Over the past couple of weeks, I have been gravitating towards some of the same products. Normally I use different makeup products daily to make sure I’m using everything in my collection but do get caught up wearing the same things continuously if I really enjoy them. Here are some of the items I have been getting some good use out of…

Urban Decay Naked Palette and Naked 2- I am a neutral eye shadow girl so naturally I love these palettes. I have been using these everyday!

Milani (Minerals)-  This blush in the color “Mai-Tai” is such a pretty matte coral. I’ve been avoiding excess shimmer during these hot summer days!

MAC Fluidline- “Blacktrack” is the perfect black gel eyeliner! I use this on the top lash line because I know it won’t fade or budge all day. I love the fact that this liner gives the most intense, precise black line that can also be smudged for a softer look.

Maybelline Lipstick- Limited edition “Porcelains”  by Color Sensational in the color 860 “Smooth Taupe” has been one of my new favorite nude lipsticks. I’m always sold on taupe lipsticks, eye shadows and nail polishes!

MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner- “Pink Fish” smells like vanilla cake which is a huge and wonderful bonus. I love the fact that you are getting a moisturizing SPF 15 along with the perfect bubble gum pink lip color. This is good for the beach since you have the sun protection, moisture and color without having to wear lipstick.

Curve By Liz Claiborne- This perfume was my signature scent back in the early 2000′s when I was living in San Diego. I go through perfume pretty slowly but this is actually my second bottle of this scent! Recently, I’ve been wearing this light, clean floral scent daily as it’s perfect for spring and summer.

Dove Go-Fresh Deodorant-   I really enjoy the whole Go-Fresh line by Dove but am particularly fond of the “Revive” Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena scented D.O. (Yes, I do wear deodorant daily)

Revlon PhotoReady Concealer- I’ve become increasingly annoyed with liquid concealers and prefer a creamy stick formula like this one to cover spots and imperfections. I don’t use this under my eyes as nothing seems to really be enough to cover my dark circles. I like how when this product is gone, it’s gone. No monkeying with a somewhat empty liquid concealer tube to extract every last drop with little success.

Almay, Almay Powder Blush Natural 110, China Glaze, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, L'Oréal True Match Foundation, L'Oreal, Maybelline, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, Maybelline Volum' Express the Mega Plush Mascara

I had a couple of great coupons for Ulta as well as Target this weekend and used them towards trying some new products…

Maybelline Volum' Express the Mega Plush Mascara, L'Oréal True Match Foundation, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" Nail Polish, Almay Powder Blush "Natural 110"

Maybelline Volum’ Express the Mega Plush Mascara, L’Oréal True Match Foundation, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, China Glaze “Flip Flop Fantasy” Nail Polish, Almay Powder Blush “Natural 110″

I was most excited about the foundations since they were the on my list of products to try. The nail polish was somewhat of a last minute purchase (from Sally’s) since I saw it online the other night and was curious to try it out since it’s a neon orangy pink…

I love the big chunky colorful mascara tubes that Maybelline and CoverGirl have come out with over the past few years. It began with the original CoverGirl “Lash Blast” and branched out from there. I had to give this new mascara a shot. The Almay blush was randomly added to my purchase since it was on sale…

I will let you know what I think of these products after wearing them for a few days. Do you own any of these items? If so, what are your thoughts?

Slap On & Go Foundation…

Foundation, L'Oréal True Match Foundation, L'Oreal, Maybelline, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

If I don’t have anywhere particular to be on the weekends in the summer and am just running around, I tend to skip foundation all together. I love the way foundation makes my skin look and have been thinking of just picking up a couple drugstore brands just to slap on and go without much time spent on the weekends. During the week I spend more time on my makeup and love the look of medium coverage foundations. Something light, fresh, inexpensive yet still great quality is what I’m after now…

I’ve heard both good and bad reviews about the following two products over the past couple of years but am going to take it upon myself to give them a shot.

Funny thing, I was out for a walk tonight and randomly found a $2.00 off coupon for the L’Oréal True Match foundation on the ground! Looks like I’m meant to buy it! I will review both of these products after I wear them for awhile.

For the past 6 months or so, I have been using the Bobbi Brown Corrector and Creamy Concealer under my eyes. This three step system of corrector, concealer and light powder really helps hide my dark circles. I have some fine lines emerging under my eyes so the creamy corrector and concealer are perfect to help combat this issue. I have noticed that the circles are still slightly visible while wearing this concealing method but the area under my eyes is significantly brighter and somewhat dewy which is great.

The only problem I have is that applying the corrector, concealer and then light dusting of powder can be a bit time consuming. Yes, the finished outcome is worth it but sometimes I just need to be able to slap one product on under my eyes and go. I’ve been wondering, is there a product out there that is just as moisturizing, provides full coverage and doesn’t settle into fine lines?

I heard that the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer would be a possibility. This stuff is supposed to be able to help conceal tattoos so I figure it would definitely help with my dark purple circles!

I was color matched at Sephora to shade #7 Sand and took a sample home to test. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now experimenting with both light and heavier application under the eyes. The concealer itself is rather thick which is nice, but the coverage is surprisingly not that great! My dark circles end up creeping back during the day! The Bobbi Brown concealer kit does tend to fade a bit during the day too but not as much as Make Up For Ever! Make Up For Ever it is not!  I have also been dabbing it on some blemishes that have popped up recently. The initial coverage of the blemishes is ok, but not really any different than my inexpensive Maybelline Superstay Concealer that I usually use on pimples and various other skin annoyances.

In short, this concealer is good, but I feel like it would be great for someone who doesn’t have very dark circles under the eye area. Since I have stopped using it under my eyes and have been so happy to return to my Bobbi Brown, I have just been using the sample up on my pimples and whatnot. Before forking over $32 on this concealer at Sephora, I recommend getting a sample first. It may work great for you! The search for quick and effective concealing continues!!

I started off this St. Patty’s day with some delightful shrimp sushi. I didn’t include in my photograph the spicy sauce and soy sauce for dipping…

I dug out one of my favorite eye shadow trios by Maybelline called “Ivy League”. I only used the light green on my lid and gold shade on my brow bone as a highlight. The light green has the most beautiful pearlescent shimmer to it. I think it would look gorgeous on anyone who has hazel or brown eyes. My eyes are turquoise and it still looks very nice…

Maybelline- Ivy League

Maybelline- Ivy LeagueWhile in Anthropologie the other day, I saw that they had a few styles of necklaces that you could buy charms for. I was specifically drawn to one of the chains so I ended up buying one today as well as a charm...
